Bible Access List 2026

More than 500 million Christians worldwide face Bible access restrictions, while socioeconomic barriers put Scripture beyond the reach of millions more. Digital availability does not guarantee access: more than 400 million Christians across 42 countries live without internet access, while 277 million across 48 countries live where accessing Scripture online is unsafe or restricted.

The Bible Access List 2026 is a comprehensive assessment identifying where Bible access is most difficult and shortages among Christians are greatest.

The research is presented in three sections:

• Bible Restrictions List: in which countries is it hard to import, print, stock, distribute and/or own a Bible?
• Bible Shortage List: in which countries are Christian communities lacking sufficient Bibles in the most appropriate forms?
• Country Profiles: detailed summaries per country of Bible access realities and needs
